Attorney Jack Schulz is serving as co-lead counsel representing Detroit Will Breathe and fourteen individual plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the City of Detroit and several individual defendants arising from excessive police brutality against Black Lives Matter protestors who have marched against disproportional police violence against citizens of color.

On September 4, 2020, Schulz Law PLC, along with co-counsel, obtained a temporary restraining order (TRO) against the City of Detroit and its police force preventing them from using various tactics and force against peaceful protestors. The TRO also prevents the police from arresting protestors en masse without individual probable cause.

On September 18, 2020, the City of Detroit stipulated to the TRO being entered as a preliminary injunction. Notably, the city unsuccessfully fought to be relieved of the TRO only days earlier.
